Venturi Colour Matrix
In collaboration with the Venturi School of Aribrushing we undertook the design and development of a colour matrix, this is a colour system that captures the infinite array of colours into a strcutured matrix organisation to render photo-realistic artwork.
The philosophy behind the Venturi colouring system is founded in the knowledge that to fully render photo-realism both opaque and transparent colours are required. The opaques form the base layers with the transparent added in progressive layers to capture the blend of complexity.
This is then further broken down into Hues, Raw Hues, and Contour colours with the addition of monochromatic. The matrix is organised such that these colours are arranged into a matrix allowing the student or artist to capture the myriad of colours in a succinct selection for quick and rapid selection to cycle through the colour complexity in a structured and organised manner producing realism through a controlled and repeatable process.
